Salon Session: Healthy Eating? with Dr. Anneleen Six - 18 Feb.
Description
Superfoods, diets, food rules, nutrition apps. We have never known more about food, and never felt more confused about what to put on our plate. What does healthy eating really mean, and is it the same for everyone?
During this Salon session, Dr. Anneleen Six looks at food through two lenses: Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Drawing on her experience as both a physician and acupuncturist, she explores how what, when and how we eat shapes our energy, digestion and resilience. Why can the same meal suit one person and not another? What does Chinese medicine mean by warming and cooling foods? And how can you let your eating habits follow your own body and the seasons, rather than the latest trend?
An evening about food as a source of health. No dogmas or strict rules, but practical insights you can take straight to your own kitchen.
Food is also one of the central pillars of Leven in je element, the book Dr. Anneleen Six recently published with Anouk Lagae and ShaoMin Xue, with chapters on food as warmth or coolness, food as medicine and eating according to the five elements and the seasons, complete with recipes. (buy here)
