Digesor - Botanical Bitters & Enzymes for Slow, Heavy Digestion

Beschreibung

Gentian root, aromatic herbs and pineapple-derived bromelain, thoughtfully combined for digestive comfort.

When food seems to linger, your belly feels full or bloated, or digestion becomes unsettled after meals, traditional phytotherapy offers a distinctive approach: bitter roots to encourage digestive readiness, aromatic plants for comfort, and calming herbs for a tense stomach.

Digesor brings these traditions together in an alcohol-free liquid formula with six botanicals and bromelain. Within Happy Belly, its focus is slow, heavy digestion and the uncomfortable fullness that can accompany eating.

Gentian - The Bitter Heart of the Formula

The root of yellow gentian (Gentiana lutea) has a pronounced bitterness, arising from compounds including gentiopicroside and amarogentin.

In European herbal practice, gentian is a classic digestive bitter, traditionally taken before meals for temporary loss of appetite and mild digestive complaints. Bitter taste stimulates salivation and forms part of the sensory preparation for eating.

Gentian is the leading botanical extract in Digesor, giving the formula its clear connection to the tradition of taking bitters before a meal.

Fennel - Aromatic Comfort for Bloating & Wind

The aromatic fruits of fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), commonly called seeds, contain volatile compounds including anethole and fenchone.

Fennel’s longstanding digestive role is described as carminative: traditionally used to ease wind, bloating and associated discomfort. Its sweet, aromatic character complements gentian’s bitterness, bringing another dimension to the blend.

Lemon Balm - Where Digestion Meets Calm

The fragrant leaves of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) contain rosmarinic acid and other phenolic compounds, alongside aromatic constituents.

Traditionally valued for both mild stress and digestive complaints such as bloating and wind, lemon balm is particularly relevant to the familiar experience of a stomach that feels unsettled during a demanding day. It brings a calming herbal character to the formula.

Roman Chamomile - A Bitter-Aromatic Companion

The flowers of Roman chamomile (Anthemis nobilis, also known as Chamaemelum nobile) combine aromatic oils, flavonoids and bitter constituents.

Long used in European digestive preparations, Roman chamomile contributes a traditional association with easing digestive spasms and wind. Its combination of bitterness and aromatic softness makes it a thoughtful companion to gentian, fennel and lemon balm.

Rosemary - Mediterranean Digestive Tradition

The leaves of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) contain aromatic oils and phenolic compounds, including rosmarinic acid.

Beyond its place in the kitchen, rosemary has a longstanding herbal use for indigestion and mild spasmodic digestive discomfort. In Digesor, it reinforces the blend’s focus on comfortable digestion after eating.

Peppermint - Concentrated Aromatic Character

Digesor includes peppermint essential oil, rather than peppermint leaf extract. Its characteristic constituents include menthol and menthone.

Peppermint oil has been studied for its effects on digestive smooth muscle. Here, a small quantity adds a concentrated aromatic component to the broader botanical blend.

Bromelain - An Enzyme Dimension

Alongside the herbs, Digesor provides 75 mg of bromelain per daily serving.

Derived from pineapple, bromelain is a mixture of proteolytic enzymes, enzymes that break proteins into smaller fragments. This gives the formula an enzyme component alongside its bitter and aromatic plants.

The Logic of the Blend

Digesor combines three complementary elements:

  • Digestive bitters: gentian leads the traditional preparation for meals.
  • Aromatic and calming herbs: fennel, lemon balm, Roman chamomile, rosemary and peppermint contribute their distinctive digestive roles.
  • Proteolytic enzymes: bromelain adds a protein-breaking component.

Together, these ingredients give Digesor a purposeful place in a routine centred on digestive ease.

Thoughtful Formulation

The Composor XXI formula uses a vegetable glycerine base with alpha- and gamma-cyclodextrins. These ring-shaped carbohydrates can help stabilise and disperse suitable plant constituents, supporting the formulation’s delivery of botanical compounds.

The liquid format makes it easy to dilute a measured serving in water before meals.
